The Flock Is Here... Empty
PostSubject: The Flock Is Here...   The Flock Is Here... I_icon_minitimeSat Sep 19, 2009 2:31 pm

Name~ Maximum Ride(Max)
Gender~ Female
Age~ 14
Hair~ Brown
Eyes~ Brown
Wing Color~ Brown at the top all the way to about the middle of her wings then start to fade into an ivory that faded into a white at the secondary and primary feathers.
Wing Span~ 15 ft.
Breed~ Avian/Human Hybrid Experiment, 98% Human, 2% Avian.
Personality~ Max acts as a motherly figure to the Flock, nurturing them and looking out for them. She is also known as being a terrible cook. She loves chocolate chip cookies, which are her favorite food, causing her to go "crazy with desire" every time she sees them. Max and the rest of the Flock are noted to be claustrophobic, a fear that came from being locked up and trapped in dog crates while at The School, the place where they were experimented on. Max is tough, sarcastic, and hates "girliness" and showing emotion.

Name~ Fang
Gender~ Male
Age~ 14
Hair~ Black
Eyes~ Dark
Wing Color~ Pitch black, but purple in the light.
Wing Span~ 14 ft.
Breed~ Avian/Human Hybrid Experiment, 98% Human, 2% Avian.
Personality~ Fang is fourteen. He has olive skin, dark eyes, and black hair. His wing span is 14 feet across. Max frequently refers to him as her "right-wing man", and comments at certain points that she trusts Fang the most out of all the flock members. Fang is described as being slightly stronger than the rest of the Flock, though in battle he frequently takes near-fatal wounds. He is assumed to have raven DNA due to his wing color ("pitch black but purple in the light") and size (ravens have enormous wings in comparison to their bodies).
Fang's mother was thought to have been a teenager who had put him up for adoption. Although it is not proven, it was also believed that Fang's mother thought he was adopted and she is therefore not a target of the School. In "The Angel Experiment" Fang suggests that his mother was probably a druggie addict, and thus, Fang acts as if he doesn't care about going back with her.
In "School's Out Forever" it is revealed that Fang's fears are being caged and not being able to help the flock. He also hates, and will do anything to get rid of, needles.

Name~ Iggy
Gender~ Male
Age~ 14
Hair~ Strawberry Blonde.
Eyes~ Sightless Blue
Wing Color~ Unknown
Wing Span~ 14 ft.
Breed~ Avian/Human Hybrid Experiment, 98% Human, 2% Avian.
Personality~ A fourteen year old kid, Iggy is the same age as Max and Fang (6 months younger than Max). He is around six foot four and has (sightless) blue eyes, extremely pale skin, and strawberry blond hair. He also (as of "Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment") has a thin wire hoop earring in one ear (curiously, this has not been mentioned in any later books). Being permanently blind, a symptom of an experiment by the whitecoats at the School to enhance his night vision, Iggy uses his other senses to make up for it. In an early conflict, one of the Erasers said that if the flock had not escaped when they did, the whitecoats would have replaced Iggy's useless eyes with computerized ones. Also, in School's Out Forever, it is explained that he can also identify people by feeling their fingerprints. However, Iggy's self-mutation, found in "Maximum Ride: The Final Warning" turns out to be an ability to see colors by touching them and can see contour when being nearly snow blinded. In Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports, Iggy mockingly replied that he has a "Highly developed sense of irony" when questioned on what abilities he possessed by Doctor Roland ter Borcht. This has proven true in most of the other books, though many of his ironic jokes pertain to his lack of sight.
The color of his wings have never been mentioned, but he has a wingspan of over 14 feet. Iggy is the flock's chef, and can cook fairly well in most conditions. The flock uses taps on Iggy's hand to tell him silent commands, since he cannot see. Iggy loves explosives and fire, and is very good at making bombs. He and Gasman usually act as a pair when working with explosives, with Iggy using his hearing to locate a target and Gasman acting as the eyes. In Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, Iggy and Gasman set of two bombs to get away from the Erasers. (In School's Out Forever) they set off a stink bomb. Though this is true they are never proven to have done it by anyone but Max. Iggy also has an extremely accurate sense of touch and can identify each of the flock by running his hands over their skin, fingerprints or feathers. He has a highly developed sense of sound. He can identify another member of the flock simply by hearing their footstep.

Name~ Nudge
Gender~ Female
Age~ 11
Hair~ Curly Brown
Eyes~ Brown
Wing Color~ Tawny
Wing Span~ Unknown
Breed~ Avian/Human Hybrid Experiment, 98% Human, 2% Avian.
Personality~ A motor mouth ("The Nudge Channel: All Nudge, All The Time"), Nudge is African American, 11 years old, and very talkative. Her wings are tawny colored as said by Max multiple times throughout the books. Her bird DNA might come from a hawk, as her wings are similar to those of a hawk, as seen in the first book.
Nudge has curly brown hair (highlighted blonde during a makeover in Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment). She is a skilled computer hacker, and develops tenuous psychometric powers (Clairsentience) within the course of the first book. This has its disadvantages, as she appears to start crying whenever she touches something that has generated great sadness or if many people have touched it, as when she went to the Vietnam Memorial on a field trip in School's Out Forever.
In the fourth book in chapter 5, Nudge develops the ability to attract metal when she wants to. When Jeb sees this he explains that he never gave her that power, and that they could possibly be "mutating" on their own.[1][2][3][4]
Of all the flock's members, Nudge is the one most determined to find her biological parents. In book one, this forces Fang (against his better judgment) to go down to Tipisco, Arizona, with her to try and locate her parents (with mixed results). She did find a woman who looked like her mother, but before she could talk to her, Ari attacked Fang and Nudge.
Nudge sometimes acts slightly girly, and events in the series suggest that she cares a little more about her appearance and other things (although in the second book it is revealed that she is an expert with cars). Out of the entire flock, Nudge tends to be the most agreeable and only ever goes directly against Max once as of book 'Max'
She is revealed to be frightened of rats.
Nudge's real name is Monique. She has assumed the alias of Krystal, Tiffany-Krystal, Jessica Miranda Alicia Tangerine Butterfly (in the flock's attempt to confuse the Chinese scientists), and Cinnamon Allspice La Fever.
Nudge is called "preppy" (book 5), and extremely fashion-forward. She loves reading, and leaves the flock to attend a Day and Night school (book 5). She doesn't stay away long, however, before returning to Max and the flock. She states that she "just missed the Flock too much", to stay away. She, along with the Gasman and Iggy, though Iggy is blind, witnessed Max and Fang kissing one another (where her reaction is whispering ZOMG).

Name~ The Gasman(Gazzy)
Gender~ Male
Age~ 8
Hair~ Blonde
Eyes~ Blue
Wing Color~ Unknown
Wing Span~ 10 ft.
Breed~ Avian/Human Hybrid Experiment, 98% Human, 2% Avian.
Personality~ The Gasman is eight years old. He earned his name from the fact that he frequently passes gas or farting, although he is often called Gazzy or Gaz instead. He also has the ability to mimic any sound or voice, an ability which he uses to play pranks. In the fourth book The Final Warning he gets the ability to release a gas that is yellow-green in color. Max called it a mushroom cloud.
The Gasman is a blond-haired kid with blue eyes, and is tall for his age like the rest of the flock. The color of his wings have never been mentioned, but his wingspan is 10 feet, as described in the fifth book, MAX.
The Gasman and Iggy are best friends, and often work together to build explosives, pull pranks, or do tasks for the Flock.
Gazzy is the biological older brother of Angel, and they are the only members of the Flock who are actually related. At the School it was revealed to him that his mother sold him for $10,000. Gazzy is constantly throwing his voice, and in the second book, Max suspects he has thrown his voice to make it seem as if Total is talking, as well as in the first book when he assumes Iggy's voice to make Max mad. He is able to copy the voice of any person, opening the possibility that he has magpie DNA. Another one of his super powers is the ability to pass gas at will. Quoted Max in the fourth book, "...and I kid you not, it was like a green mushroom cloud."
Gasman has assumed the names of Captain Teror when he was interrogated, and Zephyr, which is the name of the Roman god of the west wind. Max also called him "Jason" at Disney to cover up the fact Total could talk. His number at The School was F28246eff. He also assumes the name, "The Sharkalator".
He is revealed to be afraid of spiders.

Name~ Angel
Gender~ Female
Age~ 6
Hair~ Curly Blonde
Eyes~ Blue
Wing Color~ Pure White
Wing Span~ 8 ft.
Breed~ Avian/Human Hybrid Experiment, 98% Human, 2% Avian.
Personality~ Angel is the one who "hit the genetic jackpot", and develops a variety of powers throughout the series. She is always the most informed because of her mind reading powers. Biologically related only to Gazzy, Angel is the 'baby sister' of the entire Flock, and like a daughter to Max. She is six years old, with curly blond hair and 8-foot-wide, pure white wings that together give her an "angelic" appearance (it's suspected that her DNA came from a dove). This causes her to immediately fall in love with the stuffed bear she calls Celeste, who is dressed up as an angel. Angel is very mature and tall for her age, standing at 4'8, but succumbs easily to the joys of places like Disney World and the beach.
Angel is a very powerful telepath, and can influence anyone to her will except Jeb. In book one, she 'influenced' a woman to buy Celeste for her in a toy store. Later, in School's Out Forever, she 'influenced' a police officer into letting the flock get away penalty-free after Fang is caught driving without a license and over the speed limit. Angel can also breathe underwater and talk to fish. In MAX, Angel is shown to withstand the high water pressure.
Generally sweet-tempered, Angel exhibits a vicious streak when using her mind-control abilities. At one point she forced an Eraser to fall out of the sky, and on another occasion made one run into a tree repeatedly. Although it seems her power may not work on Max, it is just that she just is unwilling to mentally control Max.
